Overview

Our hall is perfectly suited for recording solo classical, chamber ensemble, smaller jazz groups, or singer/songwriter and acoustic acts. We are equipped to record up to 24 channels of reference quality audio either live in concert or in a closed studio session.

We also have three robotic cameras that shoot Full HD video, all operated from our control room. These are ideal for concert capture or audition video recordings. If you are in need of a more complex video project we are also equipped to bring in extra cameras and help you create a studio-style music video.

Whether it’s a live concert or a studio session we are able to live stream to YouTube, Twitch, or Facebook using our robotic camera system. Your concert or presentation could be viewed from anywhere in the world and open you up to a much larger audience.

Rates

Audio Recording

Rates:

  • $150 for 1-hr (60-minutes) of studio time
    • Files are delivered as .WAV via Dropbox
    • Hall rental, piano rental, audio engineer, and 1 hour of post-processing are included
    • Additional post-processing rates may apply*
    • 1 hour minimum required
  • $100 for a live concert recording
    • Includes audio recording and 1 hour of post-processing
    • Only applicable with concert rental

Video Recording

Rates:

  • $250 for 1-hr (60-minutes) of studio time (audio and video)
    • Files are delivered as .MP4 via Dropbox
    • Hall rental, piano rental, audio engineer, and 1 hour of post-processing are included
    • 1 hour minimum required
  • $200 for a live concert recording
    • Includes audio, video, webcasting, and 1 hour of post-processing
    • Only applicable with concert rental
  • Additional post-processing rates may apply*
  • You can opt-in to a free Live Webcast to our YouTube or Facebook page or another page of your choice

*Post-Processing

In order to deliver a finalized, distributable file format (WAV, MP3, MP4, etc), all recording projects require post-processing. In general, one hour of recorded material can be finalized within one hour of post-processing time. In some instances, additional post-processing is necessary in order to complete the project. In these cases, post-processing is billed at an hourly rate of $75/hr.

Standard delivery times:

  • 7-10 Business Days
  • Next Day Rush Processing – subject to a $100 Rush Processing Fee. Rush Processing requests must be made at time of booking and are subject to availability.

 

Studio Policies

Reservation
A 50% deposit is required to confirm each session (see below for payment information). Requested time slots will not be guaranteed until the deposit is paid. The session must be paid in full by or on the day of the session. Files will not be delivered until payment is complete.

Payment
We accept cash, check, or card through our online payment portal: https://pianofortechicago.com/payment/

Cancellation
7+ days in advance: full refund of deposit
2+ days in advance: 50% refund of deposit
Less than 2 days in advance or no-show: no refund

Rescheduling
5+ days in advance: full migration
1+ days in advance: 50% of original fee added
Same day reschedule: 100% of original fee added
