In this concert, Scofano & Minetti will showcase two renewed musical genres: Argentine tango and Argentine chamamé, both inscribed by UNESCO on their list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Stimulated by socio-cultural changes and new contexts, the new-tango of Astor Piazzolla and the new-chamamé of Richard Scofano represent new ways to approach musical traditions that date back to the end of the 19th century. The concert will feature some of the most recognized compositions of each author. Throughout the concert the duo will demonstrate how the new forms of musical writing, anchored on the life experiences of each composer, are intrinsically connected to their original traditions.
