Who couldn’t use a good laugh these days? Tom Orland and Marianne Murphy Orland share the stage in A Taste of Funny III, an all-new collection of playful parodies, comical covers, and original originals.
With stories and songs of love, laughter and lunacy; from their chance meeting at the Wilson el stop, to the iconic proposal at the turn of the Millenium, to a surprise wedding on April Fools’ Day 26 years ago, celebrate matrimonial mirth with these two cabaret and folk favorites.
Tom Orland is an award-winning songwriter and Emmy-winning filmmaker, known for his unique perspective, quick wit and authentic delivery. He has performed at prestigious venues such as the Bluebird Café in Nashville, Victory Gardens, Davenport’s Piano Bar & Cabaret, and the Chicago Cultural Center. He is one of the founders of the Songwriter’s Circle at the Old Town School of Folk Music, which has been meeting for over 30 years. Additionally, he produced and hosted the songwriter’s showcase series North by Southport at Schuba’s.
