We love sharing the wonders of vocal music with everyone and anyone who likes to bask in rich harmonies. \nDiscounts for 65+ and students age 13 through college. Children 12 and under get in free. \n  \nKaleidoscope Quartet is a Twin Cities-based vocal ensemble known for its tight harmonies\, layered textures\, and bold musical range. With decades of experience between them\, Ian Cook (tenor 2)\, Taylor Quinn (baritone)\, Dana Skoglund (bass 2)\, and Jack Vishneski (tenor 1) create four-part a cappella shows full of joy\, range\, and soul. \nThe group grew out of a series of in-home concerts for Dana’s wife\, Cheryl. Confined at home with complications from a heart transplant\, Cheryl loved the sounds of a male quartet but couldn’t attend concerts. So Dana brought the sound to her\, inviting Jack\, Taylor\, and others to sing in their living room. Cheryl passed away in November 2020. One of her parting wishes was to have a grand concert at her memorial service. Grief and the COVID-19 pandemic delayed the service a year\, during which Ian Cook joined the group. In November 2021\, the group performed Cheryl’s favorites for hundreds of people at the service. The beauty of that moment made it clear—these guys needed to keep singing together and discover the full spectrum of their joined voices. \nToday\, Kaleidoscope Quartet performs across Minnesota and beyond\, carefully curating their programs to feature songs new and old from diverse genres. Be it a theater stage\, or a more intimate venue\, a KQ show is a great event for couples\, families\, friends\, or even a solo night of music.

The album features music from the new EP: HOLD ON\, THE RIVER\, I’VE GOT JOY\, WALK ON WATER & I’VE GOT JOY reprise. \n  \n  \n \nAdrian Dunn is a trailblazing\, award-winning singer\, composer\, conductor\, and multi-genre artist whose groundbreaking contributions to American music and have earned him international acclaim. He made his Carnegie Hall debut in 2024 and premiered Wonderful: A Soulful Celebration on PBS live at Milwaukee Symphony Hall. His European debut came at the Klangwolke Festival in Linz\, Austria\, collaborating with the legendary Francesca Zambello. \nAn Emmy Award-winning composer\, Dunn received critical acclaim for his PBS special Emancipation\, recorded live at the Harris Theater Millennium Park\, which has surpassed 1 million streams and garnered four Grammy pre-nominations. He composed performed the Disney+/Hulu film Sacred Soil & is a MacArthur grant recipient for his original composition work Hopera: a hip hop opera. A visionary composer\, Dunn received The American Prize in Composition for Requiem from The Mass for the Unarmed Child. He made his Ravinia festival debut with a commissioned composition Going Home with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra conducted by Marin Alsop. He was choral conductor for The Seven Last Words of the Unarmed at Chicago’s Symphony Center and Wentz Hall in 2019 and made his conducting debut with the Chicago Philharmonic Orchestra in 2021. He’s served as Chorus Master for Chicago Opera Theater\, Southshore Opera company. His Requiem has been performed by ensembles including the Morehouse Glee Club & the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra. He is currently composing The 42 Project\, an opera based on the life of Jackie Robinson. As a published composer\, he has over 10 published choral pieces with E.C. Schirmer & gentry labels.

John von Rhein of the Chicago Tribune called Orion “one of Chicago’s most vibrant\, versatile and distinctive ensembles.” With the possibilities inherent in its unique combination of instruments—piano\, string trio and clarinet—Orion offers exciting interpretations of standard repertoire\, introduces audiences to rarely performed masterpieces and inspires composers with commissions for new works. \nThe Orion Ensemble boasts a roster of superb musicians who have performed throughout North America\, Europe and Asia\, as an ensemble and individually in solo\, orchestral and other chamber music roles. SUMMARY:Josh Surviving’s 20th Year Bone Marrow Transplant Anniversary Concert
DESCRIPTION:Chicago-based pianist Josh Surviving celebrates 20 years of surviving Cancer along with undergoing a Bone Marrow Transplant with a piano-led intimate musical concert performing some of your favorite songs in addition to telling his story about how he overcame Cancer. \nBasically from birth\, Josh Surviving has been raised up in church and from a very early age fell in love with music. By age 12\, with his mother’s encouragement\, Josh Surviving began playing the organ at church. Word of mouth quickly spread about the gifts and talents bestowed upon him and shortly after beginning his career\, Josh Surviving started to work with some of the biggest names and churches in the gospel world across the Chicagoland area. Josh Surviving is a self-taught organist\, pianist\, keyboardist\, singer and he also plays his portable “airboard” for crowds whenever possible. \nWhile going through the chemotherapy and radiation treatments\, Josh Surviving would play the baby grand piano on the hospital floor he was admitted to. The music would disrupt the silence\, pull other patients out of their beds into the hallways in search of the sound that was changing the atmosphere\, which if only temporarily\, changed how they felt on the inside. The music allowed Josh Surviving’s spirit to escape the walls of the hospital and flow into the rivers of faith\, hope\, joy\, love and destiny to fulfill his purpose. \nIn 2025\, Josh Surviving started writing\, producing and recording his upcoming EP to be released in 2026. He has been complimented by such musicians as Daniel Barenboim\, Vladimir Ashkenazy and Uchida Mitsuko. \nRiyad has given solo recitals in many prestigious venues at the UK\, including Royal Albert Hall\, Cadogan Hall\, Wigmore Hall\, Barbican\, St. Martin-in-the-Fields\, St. James’s Piccadilly\, and Leighton House in London\, and Bridgwater Hall and Staller Hall in Manchester. Concert performances have also taken him to the United States\, including a debut at the Kennedy Center in Washington\, D.C.\, and the Chicago Cultural Center (Dame Myra Hess Series)\, as well as to various universities such as Princeton University\, Lewis University\, the University of Texas in Dallas\, Carleton College\, and many others. He also won Second Prize at the Seiler International Piano Competition in Greece and the Ciutat de Carlet International Piano Competition in Spain\, Educational Award Prize at The London International Piano competition and was a finalist at the Busoni International Piano Competition in Italy. \nBesides solo performances\, Riyad is also a keen chamber music player\, and has performed regularly in duos with violin and flute\, collaborating with artists including the flautist Wissam Boustany and the Violinist Levon Cilingirian. \nRiyad first came to London in 2005 when he was awarded a two-year scholarship to study at the Purcell School of Music with Sulamita Aronovsky\, continuing to work with her at the Royal Academy of Music\, where he graduated in 2011. In June 2015\, Riyad graduated with a distinction in a Master of Performance course at the Royal College of Music\, studying with Dmitri Alexeev and Vanessa Latarche\, when he won the Gold Medal at the prestigious Chappell Piano Competition. SUMMARY:EAR TAXI FESTIVAL 2025 - Myths and Accidents – Vocal Music by Doug Lofstrom
DESCRIPTION:Ryan De Ryke\, baritone and Daniel Schlosberg\, piano perform songs from the new Divine Art/Diversions CD “Myths and Accidents.” De Ryke and Schlosberg will present three songs cycles by Doug Lofstrom: All Must End\, Myths and Accidents and Three Sandburg Songs\, which will be a world premiere. \nThe artists have worked with the composer over the last several years to bring Lofstrom’s vocal works to fruition. The album presents the three song cycles along with Three Scenes from Lofstrom’s opera Two Soldiers\, featuring De Ryke and Schlosberg as well as soprano Kimberly Jones\, tenor Ryan Townsend Strand and a chamber orchestra conducted by the composer. \n  \nRyan de Ryke\, baritone\, is an artist whose versatility and unique musical presence have made him increasingly in demand on both sides of the Atlantic. The Baltimore Sun hailed him as “a talent that seems to defy labels\, he delivers a naturally beautiful sound that penetrates to one’s inner core.” His performance of Telemann’s Pimpinone in Haymarket Opera’s production was selected by the Chicago Tribune as one of the top ten classical concerts of 2019. \nPianist Daniel Schlosberg has appeared with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in numerous chamber music and new music concerts\, has premiered Augusta Read Thomas’s Starlight Ribbons and given the US premiere of Kaija Saariaho’s Calices with violinist Austin Wulliman. He has recorded for the Albany\, Bridge\, New World\, Nimbus\, Jacaranda and Permelia labels and is on the faculty of Notre Dame University. \nComposer Doug Lofstrom has been performing and composing since the 1970’s\, and his diverse scores and recordings reflect his ongoing involvement in jazz\, folk\, theater\, dance and symphonic music. His works have been performed by numerous symphony orchestras; highlights of his work include scores for the Pittsburgh Ballet\, Midwest Ballet and the New Philharmonic Orchestra. He has been on the music faculty of Columbia College Chicago since 1986\, and founded and directed their New Music Ensemble from 2000 until 2016. \n

SUMMARY:EAR TAXI FESTIVAL 2025 - Nervous Liturgies: The Piano Music of Robert Savage
DESCRIPTION:  \nPianist Daniel Baer brings the music of Robert Savage (1951-1993) to Chicago. Robert Savage\, a queer composer who died from complications due to AIDS in 1993\, is a largely unknown artist whose music is unpublished and rarely performed. This concert presents Savage’s music from his earliest works to those that he wrote after his AIDS diagnosis in 1988. Savage’s late compositions grapple with his AIDS diagnosis and mortality\, reflect his practice of Zen Buddhism\, and demonstrate the unique synthesis of popular and academic musical trends that led John Ashbery to describe him as “a serious and very talented musicologist and composer.” Listen to the evolution of a unique American artist composing music of unparalleled and urgent intensity. \n  \n  \n  \nThe New York Times has hailed Daniel Baer as a pianist who plays with “fluidity\, warmth\, and sparkle” who “achieved the often elusive…goal of putting virtuosity at the service of bigger ideas.” Dr. Baer won first prize\, the Marshall Prize\, at the 2015 Grieg Festival Young Artist Competition held in Sarasota\, Florida.  He has since made his international debut\, playing in the International Bergen Arts Festival and for the Grieg Society of Oslo.  He has been a prizewinner in many other national and international piano competitions including the 2017 Iowa piano competition\, the 2015 National Federation of Music Clubs Biennial Competition held in Fargo\, North Dakota\, and the MTNA young artist piano competition. Dr. Baer was invited to be the guest artist at the 2012 Leschetizky Annual Birthday Recital\, which was his New York solo debut. The blog Music\, Life and other challenges wrote “Daniel Baer’s playing took the ear on a leash. Every note had color\, depth\, emotion\, and meaning.” In 2011\, he participated in Juilliard’s ChamberFest program performing the Brahms G minor piano quartet in Paul Hall.  He has also played solo and chamber music recitals in Avery Fischer Hall\, Kilbourn Hall\, Hatch Recital Hall\, and Steinway Hall. \nBaer has taught at the Eastman School of Music\, the Eastman Community Music School\, and Syracuse University. His students have won piano competitions\, participated in local and statewide music programs\, and earned admittance to college music programs. Dr. Baer lectured and worked as an accompanist at Syracuse University in 2017. In 2016\, he was awarded the Teaching Assistant Prize in recognition of his work as a teacher for the Eastman School of Music. For his achievements in the study and performance of piano\, the Eastman School of Music awarded Dr. Baer the 2017 Cobos Piano Prize. \nBaer has studied with Seymour Bernstein since 2005 and has taken lessons from Richard Goode\, Joeseph Kalichstein\, Nina Tichman\, and Jerome Rose. Dr. Baer received his Master’s Degree in Piano Performance at Juilliard where he studied with Jerome Lowenthal and earned his Doctorate at the Eastman School of Music where he studied with Douglas Humpherys. \n

DESCRIPTION:Theresienstadt was a “camp-ghetto” in German-occupied Czechoslovakia during WWII where over 140\,000 Jews were interned. Existing from November 1941 to May 1945\, Theresienstadt served an important propaganda function intended to distract from the Nazis’ efficiently organized murder machine. \nIn June 1943\, Adolf Eichmann\, the organizer of the so-called “Final Solution\,” presented Theresienstadt to a delegation from the International Red Cross. Those imprisoned were temporarily allowed to engage in artistic activities and organize readings\, concerts\, plays\, and cabaret performances as part of their so-called “leisure activities.” \nThrough music and literature\, the many artists detained in the Theresienstadt ghetto and concentration camp encouraged their fellow prisoners\, offering them comfort and hope\, at least for a moment. In their thoughts and imagination\, they overcame the walls of the ghetto\, reaching “out through the barbed wire\, out into freedom…” This musical and literary collage gives voice to their stories. \nA brief opening lecture by Michael Lahr von Leïtis will provide historical context. Actor Fred Wellisch will narrate texts by Alice Herz-Sommer\, Georg Kafka\, Paul Aron Sandfort\, Leo Strauss and Viktor Ullmann. Soprano Melissa Primavera will read selected poems and perform songs by Ilse Weber for voice and guitar. Pianist Sarah Jenks will perform piano selections often heard in Theresienstadt. The music will be sung in German with English supertitles and narrated components in English. \n  \n \nRunning time is approximately 90 minutes followed by a brief reception to allow for audience reflection\, dialogue\, and engagement with the performers. \nThe mission of The Lahr von Leïtis Academy and Archive is to expose younger generations to exiled art; helping them create a future that incorporates lessons learned from history. This program features Beethoven’s Op. 130 Quartet\, with the Grosse Fuge Op. 133\, along with the Ravel Quartet\, which was featured on their debut recording. \n  \nDescribed by the Chicago Tribune as “an ensemble that invites you — ears\, mind\, and spirit — into its music\,” the Avalon String Quartet has established itself as one of the country’s leading chamber music ensembles. \nThe Avalon has performed in major venues including Carnegie Hall\, Alice Tully Hall\, the 92nd St Y\, Merkin Hall\, and Bargemusic in New York; the Library of Congress and National Gallery of Art in Washington DC; Wigmore Hall in London; and Herculessaal in Munich. Other performances include appearances at the Bath International Music Festival\, Aldeburgh Festival\, Caramoor\, La Jolla Chamber Music Society\, NPR’s St. Paul Sunday\, Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum\, Dame Myra Hess Concerts\, Los Angeles Music Guild\, and the Ravinia Festival. Passion creates passion.” — Lera Auerbach \n“Music is my life. It is impossible to separate my life from music because they are so intensely intertwined.” \nLera Auerbach’s journey into the world of art began as a poet\, with several published works before she turned 18. Born in 1973 in Chelyabinsk\, in the Ural Mountains\, she was a virtuoso pianist from early childhood and composed her first opera at the age of twelve. In 1991\, during a concert tour in the United States\, she made the spontaneous decision at just 17 years old to remain in New York—without a safety net and without speaking English—while the Soviet Union was on the brink of collapse. She seized her freedom and started a new life in the U.S.\, where she was later granted American citizenship in recognition of her extraordinary talent. In 2021\, the Austrian government also awarded her citizenship for her significant contributions to music and the arts\, underscoring her international influence. She studied piano and composition at the Juilliard School and comparative literature at Columbia University. In 2002\, she completed her concert diploma at the Hochschule für Musik in Hanover. That same year\, she debuted at Carnegie Hall with her Suite for Violin\, Piano\, and Orchestra\, performed by Gidon Kremer and the Kremerata Baltica. Her vast wealth of teaching and performing experience enables her to successfully introduce performers of any level and age to the beautiful world of classical music. \nAs a very young child\, Dr. Lipmanovich studied with her mother\, Madame Luba Lipmanovich-Yackobishvili\, who was an outstanding pianist and a great teacher. Later she studied with well-known pianist Tatiana Nickolayeva in Moscow. Dr. Lipmanovich holds a Bachelor of Music Degree in Piano Performance from the Juilliard School of Music in New York. She was a protégé student of the legendary pianist/teacher Madame Rosina Lhevinne\, the teacher at the Juilliard School in New York. \nDr. Lipmanovich received a Master’s M.Mus\, in Piano Performance from the Rubin Academy of Music of the Tel Aviv University in Israel where she studied under the guidance of Professor Pnina Salzman and Professor Arie Vardi on a full scholarship awarded by the University. She was awarded her Doctorate in Piano Performance in 1998 under the guidance of Professor Ian Hobson from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana. Among her teachers were Anthony di Bonaventura and Rudolfo Caporally. \nDr. Lipmanovich won the Piano Competition of the Soviet Composers (Moscow). She was a winner of Tenth Annual Young Artists International Competition (New York) where she was a winner among 300 contestants and made her Carnegie Hall debut. She was recognized as an outstanding young performer and was named Collegiate All-American Scholar in the National Collegiate Academy Honorary Book. \nShe was a member of the Trio Bor\, who were members of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra\, and appeared in numerous concerts. She performed as a soloist with orchestras and in solo recitals. She performed for an audience of 30 foreign ambassadors and appeared on radio and television. Dr. Lipmanovich has given numerous Piano Master Classes and performances in Europe\, United States\, Thailand\, Russia including Master Classes at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music Clairmont Hall of Tel Aviv University in Israel. \nDr. Lipmanovich has appeared with solo recitals in England\, Italy\, Spain and performed at Music Festivals at Dardington and St. Lewis Music Festival in England. \nDr\, Lipmanovich’s performances in Chicago include the Fazioli Concert-Series (Live Broadcast on WFMT)\, and performance from the Harold Washington Library Pritzker Auditorium of Solo Recital of “All Russian Program” which was broadcasted numerous times on Television Station WTTW i. She performed at the Gala event of the Fine Arts Building in Curtiss Hall\, and at the Concert-Series at the Fourth Presbyterian Church Bachman Auditorium\, at the Schubertiade (Fazioli Pianoforte Solon). She has performed in Chicago with orchestras Grieg Piano Concerto in A minor\, and Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No 1. \nDr. Lipmanovich has been invited to give concerts\, teach\, and judge local and international competitions. Among many she was in a jury at the 6th Mozart International Piano Competition and Fifth Chopin International Piano Competition in Thailand\, where she also gave Master Classes and Solo Performances. Dr. Lipmanovich taught Master Classes in Magihol University in Bangkok Thailand. She has been a Piano Faculty Member at the Summer Music Festival of the Gulf in San Marco\, Italy since 2013. She was the Honorary President of the Jury of the Madame Rosina Lhevinne Piano International Competition held in San Marco\, Italy. She was on a Piano Faculty and gave solo performances at Ameropa Music Arts Festival “Musical Bridges” in St. Petersburg\, Russia. Allegro\, ma non troppo \n  \nChristopher Ferrer is a member of Lakeshore Rush and principal cellist of Camerata Chicago\, originally joining the orchestra in 2006. \nChristopher has toured\, recorded and performed internationally as an orchestral and chamber musician. His recording credits include the soundtrack for Spike Lee’s Chiraq and music for the 2020 film Dreaming Grand Avenue. He has performed with My Morning Jacket and Chance the Rapper – also with the Chicago Children’s Chorus\, Chicago Jazz Philharmonic\, Chicago Sinfonietta\, The Florida Orchestra\, Mode\, Anaphora\, and Picosa. Christopher traveled as solo cellist for the Broadway North American Tour of West Side Story\, giving performances throughout the United States and Canada. He is also featured as a guest artist on the award-winning album American Melting Pot as part of the premier recording of Ilya Levinson’s Shtetl Scenes for piano trio. \nBorn in Valencia\, Venezuela\, Christopher began studying cello through the Community School for the Arts in Wheaton\, IL at the age of seven and was later a member of the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra. He attended the Royal College of Music in London and Northern Illinois University. \n  \nCacie Miller has relied on the sounds and repertoire of the piano to help her make sense of the world around her since a young age. She is drawn to compositions packed with colorful storytelling and especially those that seem to push through the edges of reality. She relishes these qualities in the music of time honored composers such as Beethoven\, Liszt\, Debussy and Bartok\, and in contemporary composers such as Lera Auerbach and Reena Esmail. Sometimes Cacie improvises and composes on her instrument. \nCacie is a passionate chamber musician\, and enjoys chamber parties\, improv\, and more formal arrangements. She is a founding member of the Ferrer Miller Duo and the Helia Trio. \nCacie’s musicianship was fostered by several teachers throughout her university studies. She studied piano with William Heiles\, Rebecca Penneys\, and Robert Glover\, theory with Steve Laitz\, and harpsichord with Charlotte Mattax Moersch. She holds degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (DMA in Performance and Literature)\, the Eastman School of Music (MA in theory pedagogy)\, Houghton University (MM in piano)\, and the University of Southern Maine (BM in piano). These studies informed Cacie’s playing and her own teaching through work on body/emotion integration at the piano\, use of analytical practices to inform interpretive decisions\, and practicing intentional listening to prepare communicative performances. \nWith hope of working toward sustainable cultural practices\, Cacie has been actively working on the project Composing Our Climate\, which began during her doctoral research. This project focuses on performer-driven commissioned chamber works written to work through emotional reckonings with the climate crisis. In Fall 2023\, the first recital took place\, with works by Shi-An Costello and Sam Sharp\, two Chicago composers. In 2024-5\, Cacie worked with Missing Piece to commission and present music by Scott Rubin\, Alissa Voth and Ben Zucker. \nCacie enjoys making music in many places\, at festivals in Germany\, Italy and Puerto Rico\, and through the Chicago area\, including Constellation\, Elastic Arts\, Fourth Presbyterian Church\, the Nineteenth Century Club\, PianoForte Studios\, and several area churches\, including United Lutheran Church\, where she is director of music. Cacie is a member of New Music Chicago\, Musicians Club of Women Chicago\, and MTNA’s CAMTA chapter.

Currently studying at the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Kraków\, where he studies under Professor Mirosław Herbowski. \nThe winner of the 51st and 53rd National Fryderyk Chopin Competition in Warsaw (2022\, 2025) and was a participant in the 19th International Fryderyk Chopin Competition in Warsaw in 2025.
