Beethoven’s Great Sonatas; Pathetique, Moonlight, & Appassionata

Chicago-based international pianist Ani Gogova presents three of Beethoven’s great sonatas, the Pathetique, Moonlight and Appassionata. She will share the stage with her 13 year old student Constantine Wang just weeks prior to his debut at Carnegie Hall in NYC.

Sonata in C minor, Op. 13 “Pathetique”
Sonata in C-sharp minor, Op. 27 no. 2 “Moonlight”
Sonata in F minor, Op. 57 “Appassionata”
Ani Gogova’s “dazzling artistic presence” and “virtuoso technique beyond reproach” have been captivating audiences around the world at venues like Carnegie Hall, Chicago’s Harris Theater, EXPO 2020 in Dubai, and the Embassy of Bulgaria in Washington. Some of her concerts have been selected as top recommendations by Time Out Chicago Magazine and the Chicago Tribune and broadcast on NPR, WBEZ, TEDx Talks, and WFMT Chicago. Internationally, she has performed in Bulgaria, Italy, Serbia, England, Slovenia, Romania, Portugal, Macedonia, France, Canada, Mexico and UAE. James Harrington of American Records Guide writes, “Gogova is a complete modern classical musician, with the ability to communicate her music through straight concert performances, videos, multi-genre presentations, and recordings… I would go out of my way to see her perform.” Her latest album titled “Fantasies, Fairytales, and Nightmares” was released on Blue Griffin Recording label gathering critical acclaim for her playing being “quite hypnotic”, “eliciting fine nuances”, “projecting a special magic “ and for its “incisive accuracy” “as if she were Martha Argerich on speed.” Gogova holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and served as a professor at the Music Conservatory of Roosevelt University in Chicago. Currently, when not on tour, Gogova teaches at University of Chicago and gives masterclasses around the world.
