American Souvenirs: Blue Violet Duo CD Release Concert @ PianoForte Studios

In celebration of the release of their much-anticipated debut CD, Blue Violet Duo presents fresh works for violin and piano by American composers in a colorful array of styles — jazz, blues, ragtime, and even rock. With special guests Victor Sotelo, cello and Brady Miller, drums.

Blue Violet Duo was formed in 2013, born of a friendship as well as a musical kinship from a shared educational background and interest in exploring the duo repertoire. The Chicago-based duo enjoyed immediate recognition, winning a competition that led to their performance in Weill Hall in New York in February of 2014. They have since performed recitals throughout the Chicagoland area, including the Chicago Cultural Center, St. John Cantius Cathedral, Merit School of Music “Live from Gottlieb” series, Chicago Artists Month, the David Adler Center, PianoForte Studios, Fourth Presbyterian Church’s Noonday Concert Series, the Northbrook Public Library Fine Arts Series and the Oak Brook Public Library. They have had repeat engagements on the Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concert Series, broadcast live on WFMT Chicago 98.7 FM.
