What happens when you combine two acclaimed Chicago singer/pianists and their talented musical and marital partners into one concert featuring a fabulous foursome? The answer is TOO MUCH FUN!
From Jazz standards to pop music treasures, these four performers have been known for putting their unique, fresh spins on music in the Chicago land area for over 30 years. At this rare concert event held at PianoForte, which houses some of the city’s finest grand pianos, you will see Beckie Menzie and Mark Burnell working together on extravagant piano duets, while getting the chance to move out from the piano bench. Then add in Anne Burnell’s acclaimed vocals and Irwin Berkowitz’s dynamic percussion stylings and you can enjoy everything from songs like Birdland, Lush Life and 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover.
BECKIE MENZIE has appeared at Lincoln Center and Birdland in NYC and Chicago’s Auditorium Theatre, as well as concert halls across the country. Hailed by Chicago’s WGN Radio as “one of the city’s finest cabaret performers,” Beckie was featured with Michael Feinstein for her Carnegie Hall debut and serves as a Musical Director for Feinstein’s Songbook Academy. She performs regularly with Tom Michael and also is one third of the group GIRLS LIKE US. Beckie is the co-host for Monday Night Live.
